Why is it that heat pumps are rarely used in the UK to heat homes? However in a remote region there may be reason to use such a system. What type of system might you recommend and what would be the criterion to justify the heat pump as an alternative to a simple oil boiler?
GIVE FULLY EXPLAINED AND TYPED ANSWER
Generally, heating of a space using heat pump is most efficient method. As it consumes less power than the amount of heat it is supplying to keep the space warm. But in UK the price of electricity is almost triple compared to oil price. So high electricity costs led to dicline in heat pump usage in UK.
In remote areas where getting oil is difficult but electricity line are every where. More over hear pump which uses electricity to run is more greener choice than oil heaters which emits a lot of co2.
When we compare a oil heater and heat pump to heat the same space, heat pump actually use less power and provides more heat. But oil heater consumes same amount of energy which is required to heat the room. So the best choice is to select heat pump which is most efficient.
