1) If two parents are each carrying one copy of the allele for yellow eyes (Y) and for blue eyes (y), what are ALL the possible phenotypes of their children? (Assume that eye color is a simple, mendelian trait).
a) Yellow Only
b) Green Only
c) yellow and blue only
d) Yy
e) YY, Yy, yy
I picked yellow only but I guess I got that wrong
2) If a child is heterozygous for a particular trait, and the mother of that child is homozygous dominant for that trait, then the father would be… (There may be more than one correct answer - please select ALL possible answers).
Hint: it may be helpful to draw out some punnett squares.
A) Homozygous dominant
B) Homozygous recessive
C) Heterozygous
this one I picked A and B but that was wrong as well I thought the father would be A and B
The answer to the first question is option C which says that the yellow and blue colored offsprings will be observed.
The answer to the second question can be option B and option C. The genotype of the father will be either Heterozygous or homozygous recessive.
