Nature vs. Nurture
Nature vs. nurture is among those philosophical concepts that have always been discussed and debated within psychology.
Nature refers to every gene as well as the hereditary factor that influences who is an individual from his or her physical appearances to personality characteristics.
On the other hand side, nurture is a very different concept. It represents every environmental variable that impacts who individuals are, including their early childhood experiences, the way in which they are raised, their social relationship, and their surrounding culture.
For example health issues
The issue of high blood pressure or obesity, the Nature approach believes that genetics highly influence the issues of BP and obesity, whereas nurture concept argues that it is because of poor as well as careless eating habits that lead to obesity or high blood pressure.
For example, the personality development
the nature approach believes that a child develops his or her personality by influencing his parent genetics and learn the behavior and other traits form the environment, whereas nurture supporters emphasize that growing up under the presence of parents, especially mothers, is what a child learned personality.
For example occupation
If children of a doctor or a teacher become teacher or doctors, the nature advocate states that it is because of genetics and in contrast the nurture advocates argue that it is not genetic, but they are influenced by how their parents and family members are doing and approaching things and it creates a sense of interest in them.
