After reading the book "Plan B 3.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization, What are your thoughts and views on the FIRST Chapter, 'Entering a New World'.
The chapter, Entering a New World throws light on the measures that ought to be taken to save the civilisation. As cited in the book, World facing a backlog of unresolved social and environmental problems such as Rapid population growth, rampant poverty, hunger and disease in many countries, soil erosion, grassland turning into deserts etc which calls the need for a Plan B ,A Plan of Hope . It also mentions several measures being undertaken by different countries to tackle the problems int their areas which extends from Fish farming advances in China to reforested mountains of South Korea, which can be prototype models of Plan B undertaken as per the necessities of the region. As far as the pollution levels are concerned which is a common problem across regions of the world, It also involves cutting carbon dioxide emissions 80 percent by 2020, largely through a mobilization to raise energy efficiency and harness renewable sources of energy. The author also cites components of Plan B as alternative to usual business--in new technologies already on the market. Gas-electric hybrid automobiles, advanced-design wind turbine, vacuum-sealed refrigerator are some of the energy efficient examples of the same.
