Security Issues

There are various security issues that arises from use or development of computer software such as data loss, security breaches and malicious attack , such as hacking and viruses. Although we can implement measures to reduce the vulnerability but it cannot be eliminated. Hence, there is a great risk of security while using softwares. In accounting, security concerns are identified as one of the top five issues for senior level IT managers. The list of these issues are endless various measures such as anti-virus, firewalls etc can be used to mitigate the risk. As company's data can be misused which can pose a great risk in the functioning of the company.

Legal Issues

There are various legal issues that arise from development and use of software such as we have to develop or use the software within the terms and conditions agreed by both buyer and supplier of the software. We have to make sure we are not using any other work as it may pose the risk of copyright and lead to heavy fines and penalty. Rights are protected under patent law for software implemented process. With a large number of patents already protecting the details of the software, and strict liability , there is a real risk that the developed software could infringe on an existing product.

Further, we have to make sure the software is in lines with country's IT laws and regulations. The cyberlaw body of the country which keeps a close eye on networking and software. There are various laws such as Data protection Act that governs in USA.

Ethical Issues

You should always do what is right. Even as a software developer or user , you should know what is ethical (right) or unethical (wrong). Even while using we should respect the privacy of other users of software such as location , personal data , credit card details etc. The software should be accurate and there should be minimised errors and bugs. Further, even with advancement in techonolgies and all the malicious softwares and acces to these activities we should know hat is right. Not involve in any activities which are not right or disallowed by law.
