The score of IQ has a nominal distribution. Suppose the average IQ score is 110 and the stanard deviation is 15
a. what si the IQ that is 1.5 stanadard deviation higer that the average and what proportion of people exceed that score.
b. a person is selected at ransom. what is proportion that his/ her IQ score is between 95 and 140.
z 0.1587=1 z 0.0668= 1.5 z 0.0228=2
z 0.0013=3
Here in this scenario it is given that the score of IQ has a nominal distribution. Suppose the average IQ score is 110 and the stanard deviation is 15.
a) The IQ that 1.5 Standerd deviation higher than average is 132.5.
1.5 Standerd deviation means 22.5. i.e. 1.5*15=22.5
Now the proportion of people that exceeding the 132.5 is 6.6%.
b) a person is selected at ransom that his/ her IQ score is between 95 and 140. There is 81.86% people's are iq between 95 to 110.
The all probabilities are calculated using Standerd normal z-table.
