KPMG is a global network of professional firms providing services like financial,tax and legal, advicing,consulting and assurance services .The name KPMG stands for Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler. It was founded on 1987 when merger of Peat Marwick International and Klynveld Main Goerdeler happened. Its headquaters is in Amstelveen, Netherlands.

Breif History:

ON 1897 James Marwick and Roger Mitchell founded Marwick, Mitchell and company. After 8 years , they launched banking practices. After the sucess of banking service, they expand their business to insurance industry.

On 1925, company creates alliance with British accounting firm W.B.Peat & co. and forms Peat, Marwick, Mitchell company. This alliance made the company to grow more and had to face stiff competitons. On 1987, for more expansion Peat Marwick agreed to merge with Klynveld Main Goerdeler(KMG) a Dutch accounting firm. The merger of both firms created the largest accounting firm in the world in terms of size and revenue.

On 1989 US branch is renamed KPMG Peat Marwick; 1999 they shortens its name to KPMG LLP, a branch of KPMG international.

KPMG's member firms are located in more than 159 countries across the globe.
