Moving from one country to another, region or place to another is termed as migration.

People migrate from one place to another for Economic, Social, Political or Environmental reasons such as in search of job, to get good education, to get better quality of life or to get better career opportunities or to stay closer with their family or friends.

Feminization of Migration:

Increase in the number of women migrating for education, job opportunities or a better lifestyle is termed as feminization of migration. Now a days, women prefer to migrate than becoming a dependant in their family.

From the past few decades, women migration has been increased. Some women migrate to override the norms which are male dominating. They leave their home to become financially Independent. Research shows increase in number of women among International migrant workers. In developed countries, there is greater opportunity for women in healthcare services, entertainment. So, they migrate to other places to live a better life.

Increase in work or career opportunities for women around the world is responsible for feminization of migration.
