Any sub-shell (or an orbital ) occupies a maximum of 2 electrons(one with spin = + 1/2 and the other with spin = -1/2).
Example 2Px , 2Py, 3dxy
4) n =8 shell
Number of electrons in each shell are given bu the formula 2n2 where n is the shell number
Here n =8 so the number of electrons are given by 2(8)2 = 2 x 64 = 128 electrons
2) 2pz orital can occupy a maximum of 2 electrons (one with spin = + 1/2 and the other with spin = -1/2)
(pz orbital is one of the three sub shells of a p - orbital (px , py , pz )
1) A set of 4d orbital (There are 5 set of orbitals, i.e., dxy , dyz , dzx , dx2-y2, dz2 )
Each orbital occupies a maximum of 2 electrons
5 d-orbitals occupies a maximum of 5 x 2 = 10 electrons
3) 7S orbital , a S-orbital have only one sub shell, so it will occupy a maximum of 2 electrons
