• In this situation, less oxygen is delivered to cells of body.
• In less oxygen, the processes which requires oxygen are affected.

• Maximum amount of ATP is produced by aerobic respiration with help of oxygen.
• Oxygen acts as final electron acceptor in electron transport chain in mitochondria. This electron transport chain is highly ATP producing step of aerobic respiration.
