1 which plants( Algae, Bryophyte, Monilophytes of Horsetails and ferns) are gametophyte dominant? explain
2 which plants(Algae, Bryophyte, Monilophytes of Horsetails and ferns) makes spores? explain
3 name the structure bryophytes use to anchor themselves to rocky substrates.
4 what are two similarities between mosses and ferns? explain
5 what are two differences between mosses and horsetails? explain
6. what is the earliest group of plants ( Algae, Bryophyte, Monilophytes of Horsetails and ferns) to evolve true vascular tissue, leave and roots? explain
1)BRYOPHYE
Gametophyte dominant life cycle is seen in Bryophytes.
Bryophyte are primitive forms in which the gametphyte are generated from the spores, This is a haploid state, they produce sperm and egg during their gametophyic life cycle. and this is fertilised and the diplod sporophyte are generated.
2)Spores are produced by Algae, bryophyte, horsetail, Ferns
Large algae reproduce by producing spore
Brophyte is a nonflowering plant that produce spores for the reproduction
Horsetail and Ferns are pteridophyte which produce spore for reproduction.
3)RHIZOID
Bryophyte anchor on the rocks by a filamentous outgrowth that is similar to root hair.
4)Similarity between the mosses and ferns
1)Both are nonflowering plant
2)flagellated sperms for swimming in the waterbody to reach the female egg(archaegonia)
3)Fertilisation of non motile female by motile male
5) Differences between Mossess and ferns
1)Ferns have a vascular system mosses didnot have vascular system
2)the dominant lifecycle in mosses is gametophyte and in ferns are sporophyte
3)Mosses contain rhizoid and ferns contain true roots
6)FERNS
ferns are the first plant variety which have a true vascular system, roots, leaves
