Yes, in my opinion, federal law would be violated if a union would like its employer to require workers to join the union after a specified amount of time on the job although the employer does not require its new hires to join the union as a requirement for getting hired. Federal law establishes that the workers must not join the organization for the purpose of getting into a union. Unions are part of the workforce but they must not dictate the terms of joining the organization. Unions are for the rights and benefits of the workers and ensuring that they get fair treatment in the organization and also get equal pay as well. However they must not impose on the employer the conditions that allow the workers to join the union after a specified amount of time on the job.
Yes, in my opinion the workers have the right to organize and form a union if an employer has 7000 workers in 7 locations. The federal law gives right to the workers to form unions in order to get their rights and receive fair treatment as well. Even if the workers are working in different locations, they have the right to organize themselves and form union.
