A group of twenty students and we want to investigate the effect of the use of some didactic resource, a video on YouTube, on their ability to solve certain types of mathematical problems. We take an initial test, we ask them to watch the video and when they finish we take another test. We now have two observations from each student. Please use the statistical methods learned in this semester (T test/variance analysis/regression analysis/chi-square test) to calculate and write a short report.

Solution : A group of twenty students and we want to investigate the effect of the use of some didactic resource, a video on YouTube, on their ability to solve certain types of mathematical problems. We take an initial test, we ask them to watch the video and when they finish we take another test. We now have two observations from each student.
We have to use paired t test since we have before and after type data
we have data of scores before watching the video and after watching the video
X= score before watching video
Y = score after watching video
Y - X = difference > 0 ( should be if video works )
H0 : there is no change in score
vs H1: there is change in score
test : H0: difference = 0
vs H1: difference > 0
test rule : reject Ho if tcal > t(n-1),los
tcal = 3.23125 > t table value = t 14, 0.05 = 2.093
Thus we reject H0
Hence the difference is positive implies that , scores before watching the video and after watching the video are significatly changed and score after watching video is more than before.
Hence , effect of the use of some didactic resource, a video on YouTube, on their ability to solve certain types of mathematical problems.is positive.
