Explain how anxiety, sadness, anger and positive affect all have different patterns of effects on judgement and decision making, according to Beck's schema theory, ( in a reflective essay style).
The Schema is a network of beliefs and assumptions held by an individual which can have an influence on them in various areas of life. There are many kinds of schemas which a person may have, these schemas may be the result of ones own experiences, For Example. A person has a core belief about ones self that he/she is a worthless person and is good for nothing, this belief has the consequence of him/her feeling low self esteem and low self confidence. Another Example would be a person who has a belief that he is responsible and committed to his family, will make decisions which will always try to protect his family. The emotions which a person holds towards certain people or to certain situations have a effect on the interaction they have with them. For Example. A child is anxious about participating in sports in the school, so whenever there is a sporting event, he tells his parents that he is not well and doesn't want to go to school.
