What are two types of genetic variation that DO NOT contribute to an immediate response to selection for a population? Think about the constituents of VG when deriving the narrow sense heritability.
Genetic variation describes naturally occurring genetic differences among individuals of the same species. Two types of genetic variations do not contribute to the immediate response of selection in a population is discussed below-
Matting patterns are important as it leads to non random mating can sometimes occur because one organism choose to mate with another mate with another based on certain traits. When this happens the mating pattern of that population are no longer random. Non random meeting can occur in two forms which are inbreeding and outbreeding.
Random forces lead to genetic drift which occurs in a small population, where frequently occuring alleles faces a greater chance of being lost. Genetic drift is common after a population experiences as population bottleneck. Distribution is one way that genetic variation can be preserved in large populations over wide physical ranges, as different forces may shift relative allele frequencies in different ways at either end. After mating is established between the migrating and destination individuals, will contribute gametes carrying alleles that can alter the existing proportion of alleles in the destination population.
Narrow-sense heritability is used to measure how variation among individuals is influenced by genetic differences that are on average , passed from parents to offspring. VG constituents used this population to estimate the narrow sense heritability for an among the individual correlation between the repeatable traits, as the the ratio between the VG and VP variances , VGH2=VP were modeled in reproductive state could generate behavioural differences among the individuals in the population. The narrow sense heritability is a fraction that's addictive genetics h2= VA/VP that determines the large variation in reported VA/VG ratios from the narrow sense heritability h2=VA/VG is the proportion constituent.
