In the given case, it was alleged that some parents paid an admission consultant who in turn bribed sports faculties at schools to admit students based on sports programs without having any proven athletic ability. The ACT and SAT test conductors were also charged of accepting bribery from the admssion consultant to check students's papers unfairly.

RICO allegations (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) refers to an US law that facilitates extended criminial penalties on criminals who are charged of proceedings going on currently.
