Do you think the city ought to be saved? Why not just spread out, without the centralized functions of a city? What advantages/disadvantages does the city alone have?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Yes, I believe that cities ought to be saved without the centralized functions of a city.

Advantages:

  • No burden to fulfill the rule and regulations of the central government

If they are not centralized, then they do not have the burden to fulfill the policies of the central agencies and in the same, they get independence which gives them ample time to frame their policies which suits them.

  • Free to adopt local means

This is the main advantage that they have the power to adopt their own local means to save their city and this will give them ideas to generate them on the local level and it will help in the sustainable growth of any city.

Disadvantages:

  • They may deviate from the track

If they are not centralized, then they may be deviated by the policy guidelines and it will hurt the sentiments of natural law and nature and they may face many problems where they are not able to find the solutions on the local level.

Hence we can say that there may be lots of advantages and disadvantages of all these but giving free hand to a city will be more fruitful for it to develop and adopt the policies according to its suitability.
