What does it mean to be a professional? Also what are the advantages of being a professional versus an employee, and are there any disadvantages?

Solutions

Expert Solution

To be professional means that a person is engaged in certain activity as a main paid occupation with requisite skills and not as an amateur. A professional gains the expertise and skills required to be successful in his field.

An employee just works in the organization and delivers the required output, whereas a professional gains required skills and performs the tasks in the best possible way. He delivers the best results due to his professional approach and gains the required skills and expertise which is helpful in delivering the best results.

There are no disadvantages being a professional but at certain occasions, the emotional touch is also required in order to be successful. A person cannot be professional all the time and has to ad humanitarian touch also to deliver the best results.
