When and how did they spread across the various continents of the world. What distinguished Homo sapiens from Homo neanderthalis in Europe and Homo erectus in Asia? What theories explain the disappearance of these earlier species? What were the major adaptational strategies that enabled Homo sapiens to spread into so many different parts of the world? What qualities differentiate Homo sapiens within the species today?

Expert Solution

Human beings are also scientifically called as Homo sapiens sapiens. Neanderthalensis is another subspecies of Homosapiens. It is shown that Neanderthals and Homosapiens existed together at a certain point of time according to a theory. During the period before 36500 and 35000- years ago these two groups existed together in France. After about 35000 years, neanderthalis species disappeared.

There is another theory that Neanderthals have interbreeded with homosapiens and mingled with homosapiens although this theory was not considered correct. Number of blood surveys were made in several of the Europeans and no trace of Neanderthal genes were present in any of the samples. Some theories say that ice age has prevented the Neanderthals to survive. If it is so, then neanderthals could have survived even after ice age.

There is another theory that Homosapiens have made Neanderthals to become extinct. This theory can be believed. It is also found that homosapiens and homoneanderthals did not intermingle with each other for thousands of years. They were not in terms with one another. These two species were afraid of one another. That could be reason for the homosapiens to wipe away Neanderthals. Some theories have shown evidence that Sapiens had good clothing, good shelter and good weapons. As Neanderthals were well-built and stronger they might have appeared as a threat to the homosapiens.

As Neanderthals did not share the territory to the homosapiens, sapiens might have fought well to take away the territory from Neanderthals and that could be one reason for the Neanderthals to get vanished. Though the Neanderthals were strong enough, Sapiens used very good weapons to defeat neanderthals and in a period of about 1000 years and more, Neanderthals might have disappeared completely.
