One day the weather was really bad. Rain and thunderstorms. Yet, the Colonel wanted to go flying. He went out to the helicopter and got in with a Warrant Officer pilot. Everyone watched as the helicopter picked up to a hover then landed, picked up to a hover then landed. This happened five times. Finally, the aircraft landed and the Colonel walked away. When the pilot got back to operations everyone asked what happened. The pilot said, “When the aircraft is on the ground the Colonel is in charge and he said let’s fly. But when the aircraft is in the air, I’m in charge and I said the weather is too bad we’re not going anywhere”.
It’s not easy to run a successful business, but you may fail if you are reckless.
If a business is worth doing, it is worth doing right. Once you start cooking the books, there is no going back. Ask Bernie Madoff. Be ethical in your research.
I do not get the questions at first, but it might be based on the Boss factor similar to risk factor. Start to solve a big or challenging problem which has no solution so far is always have high risk factor. Because the outcome is unknow. In other hand is outcome is known the risk factor is low.
Let's view a business model which has multiple pillars as for
now,
p1 : R&D of product
p2 : Staff behaviour
p3 : Marketing
p4 : Planning and coordination
p5 : Financial management
p6 : Alliances
etc. are some pillars.
For a successful business these all pillars should have positive
impact. If they are in coordination your business will run
smooth.
The probability can be find as,
P(SB) = P(p1) * P(p2) * P(p3) * P(p4) * P(p5) *P(p6) ; SB = Successful Business
In general,
P(SB) = P(p1) * P(p2) * ..... .. * P(pn-1) * P(pn), n = number of
factors.
In this all, one factor is missing and it is the most crucial for
all type of businesses. The Boss factor, let us called it B.
P(SB)f = B * P(SB) // P(SB)f Finally successful
The statment above is based on the Boss factor. Even if the P(SB)
value is 1 or 100 % but the Boss is not agree with it the B factor
will be 0.
so, P(SB) = 0 * 1 = 0 ; No good bussiness result.
On other hand the Boss is good for all pi (i = 1, 2, .. n) then B =
1; P(BS) = 1 so P(BS)f = 1
