Expert Solution

- Breast milk is the best nutrition for the baby. But all mothers are not able to breast feed their baby, some because of medical conditions and some because of their lifestyle. If a mother is not breast feeding the baby formula feeding is given to the baby. The decision to breastfeed or formula feed baby is a personal one. One should always look the pros and con's of it before deciding.A number of health organisations reccomends breastfeeding as the best choice for babies. Breastfeeding helps defend against infections, prevent allergies, and protect against a number of chronic conditions.Breastfed babies have fewer infections and hospitalizations than formula-fed infants. During breastfeeding, antibodies and other germ-fighting factors pass from a mother to her baby and strengthen the immune system. This helps lower a baby's chances of getting many infections.

- Mother's should be taught that Breast feeding is the best option for their child. It makes the child stronger and smarter. It also helps build an emotional connect between the mother and the child. Its beneficial for mom, too. The ability to totally nourish a baby can help a new mother feel confident in her ability to care for her baby. Breastfeeding also burns calories and helps shrink the uterus, so nursing moms may be able to return to their pre-pregnancy shape and weight quicker.

- The health care worker should explain the patient in best way possible and try to convince the patient. The health care provider should try and explain the patient by giving example of how two child one who is breast feeded and other who is formula feeded are different physical and mental development. Health care worker should answer all the patients query politely related to the problem and try to change her views.

- Even after explaning and trying out all the ways ,the patient doesn't agrees than the health care worker should let the patient take the final call.
