Define the following: protozoan, trophozoite, cyst.
Protozoan
It is single-cell eukaryotes, parasitic, which feeds on living organisms such as other microorganisms or organic tissues and waste. In particular, protozoa are considered "single-cell organisms", because they often have animal-like behavior, such as movement and predation, and have no cell wall, as found in many plants and algae. Although the traditional practice of combining protozoa with animals may no longer be considered effective, the term continues to be used in a more open way to identify single-cell organisms that cannot survive on their own and feed on heterotrophy.
Trophizoite:
The growing phase in the life cycle of certain sporozoan parasites, where they draw nutrients from the host.
a general term for the active, dietary, repetitive phase of most protozoa. In insect species this is the category most commonly associated with the pathogeneis.
Cysts:
These are abnormal, closed sac like structures such as a tissue containing a gaseous, semisolid or liquid substance. Cysts may present anywhere in the body and can vary in size. The outer part of the cyst is called the wall of the cyst.
