What is the hierarchy of risk control measures from most to least preferred ?
Hierarchy of controls to be most effective and move down to be
considered least effective. it is a approach to risk reductions
enhance occupational health and safety. it inlcudes
Elimination - remove physically hazard objects in workplace.
example: use non toxic chemicals for machinery requirement.
substituaiton -replace the hazard. example: replace the hazardous
chemicals and replace it for safer one.
engineering controls -remove the people from hazardous. equipment
that should not interfere with worker productivity and it should
make the work easy. example:noise control.improve the sound
insulation in the cabs and other vehicles.
Adminstrative controls - change the way people work . example:
limit the workers times, install alarm, signals and warning.
Personal protective equipment: use personal protective equipment.
example: use mask, eye shield and aprons, helmet for various work
conditions that encourage workers to protect them from various
hazards.
