as in the case of the liver transplant for mickey mantle, should the system make allowance for "real heroes"? Why or why not
According to my personal view, I think that the system should definitly make allowance for "real heroes". Mickey Mantle was no ordinary man. He was a hero for the country and people of America saw him as their idol and their hero. There are so many factors that affect the allocation of organs to the most suitable recipents from organization to organizations. There is no such guarantee that person who requires the organ the most will get that in time. The social-economic status of the patient also play a major role in getting such priority. This is what worked for Mickey Mantle too and he got the doner on time. Many will argue that every life is precious which is quite correct to some extent. But at the same time one has to understand that he made the whole nation proud way more than one time and such a person who has entertained million of Americans as well as people from other countries for such a long time should atleast get some priority in a life-threatening situation like this.
