Aztecs chose to build their capital city in the middle of a brackish lake for various reasons.Actually aztecs were told to shift to someother place from valley.Then they started finding a place where there was a symbol of snake and eagle on a desert plant.The same  symbol was found on island of brackish lake.Brackish lake is a fresh water lake and irrigation can be done without any hazzles.Therefore,Aztecs chose to build their capital city in middle of brackish lake so that farming can be done easily and even enemies would find it difficult to attack such cities built on lake.Aztecs developed and built a city in the middle of a brackish lake in such a way that rivals cannot enter into city.Paths were built so that people of the city can travel to other place.The life there was safe and protected Aztecs from wars ,etc.Many people were saved and found livelihood in the capital city built in middle of brackish lake.The water in lake helped many people to survive and it was even used as weapon during wars.Religious places,trading places were also builted and people started various activities to earn livelihood.In this way,Aztecs chose to build their capital city in middle of brackish lake.
