Where do community level theories “fit” into the Ecological Framework OR the Theory of Triadic influence presented at the beginning of this course? Could we use concepts/constructs from BOTH diffusion of innovation AND Social Capital Theory in an intervention to increase the use of a new community walking trail? What constructs or ideas from each could be targeted and how?

1. There is a strong connection between community level theories with attributes like pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation for action,action and maintenance and on other hand ecological framework. The interrelation between personal/ social/ community factors and ecological aspects is an ever changing one hence volatile and not worth predicting.

2. AND 3,-Of course. The concepts / constructs from both diffusion of innovation and social captail theory can be of immense use regarding a new community walking trail. The participation, affection, bond of love, understanding, sense of recipocation and an urge to be worthy of use to the allied social group are the facets which can be targeted and creatively used to blossom a new community walking trail. Communication across ethnic lines may lead to win-win situations.

The constructive parameters regarding a new community walking trail can be cultivated and their rate of diffusion can be actively altering the factors influencing adoption rates like - observable extent, relative advantage, complexity and compatibility and trail extent.
