Your expecting client comes to you and tells you that due to her daughter’s medical complications, she was not able to breastfeed. She wants to talk about breastfeeding and bottle feeding. Based on your reading, what would you tell her?
ANSWER:
Breast feeding is one of the effective method of feeding to baby from birth to upto 6 months of age and can be continued upto one year period. Breast milk contains high nutritious elements which will protect the child from chronic illnesses and infections. It is one of the immunity booster to the child. The mothers who will give breast feeding are at a less risk of getting breast cancers.
If mother is suffering from any chronic diseases, on medical treatments, on chemotherapy, breast cancers are not eligible to give breast feeding to the child. In this case the condition of the child is not good, but not the mother. Hence, breast feeding is most effective at this time period as the breast milk acts as a immunity boosters to fight against the disease condition and to recover soon.
Bottle feeding is given when mother is not able to give breast feeding to child examples like mother having disease conditions, taking medical treatment, breast engorgement, breast cancer, lumps in breasts, lack of milk production in the breasts, inverted nipples all these conditions are not favourable for braest feeding. At that time bottle feeding is advised to mother. Thus, I will say mother to go for breast feeding than going for bottle feeding.
