Buergers disease or thromboangitis obliterans is an occlusive vascular disorder which involves the small and medium sized arteries and veins in the distal upper and lower extremities.
*it can also affect the cerebral, visceral and coronary vessels.
*it is common in men more than women
*etiology:
Tobacco use
Immune responses
Inherited factors
*Symptoms:
Pain and weakness of extremities
Swelling of extremities
Pale colors of fingers and toes when exposed to cold
Skjn ulcers or changes in hands or feet
Pain can radiate to more central parts
Distal extremity ischemia
Parasthesias
