Michael Jordan is riding the Giant Drop at Great America. If Michael Jordan falls for 2600 milliseconds, what will be his final velocity and how far will he fall?

Type in your correct answers and have the correct units by them for full points

Use g = 9.8 m s − 2

Solutions

Expert Solution

1. All of the following is an example of random error except:

Poor thermal contact between thermometer and object being measured.

Contact between thermometer and object being measured is not a random event. Not any fluctuation caused by nature is involved in it. It can be fixed easily with some mechanical tools, where others are caused by nature and cant be removed from the system.

2. When all measurements of a quantity are consistently bigger or consistently smaller than the true value, these best indicates ________________________:

Systematic error in measurements.

Normal variation would not having consistantly higher or lower valus. It follows a normal distribution and values will be distributed like the distribution. But systematic errors can caused error of same margin everytime.

3.

Random error in measurements At score value of zero implies:

The measured and actual value are the same (a perfect result)

Zero random error means there is no error in measurement.

4. For a free fall of picket fence, the velocity will be increases linearly with time v= g*t.

Now, as velocity increases, it will pass through the displacement faster.

5. Micheal Jordan in free fall. t = 2600 mili sec= 2.6 sec.

Initial velocity = 0

Final velocity will be v= g*t where g=-9.8 m/sec2

v= 9.8*2.6 m/sec = 25.48 m/sec

Travelled Distance=

Putting all values travelled distance = 33.124 m.
