Why did Darwin delay publication of his theory for so long?

Darwin delayed his publication for a long time since he knew that after he would announce his work, he would become the attraction oint and the debate cen-tre that would exist between religion as well as science. And that is one of the reasons he waited for almost 23 years for publishing his work.

What finally prompted him to finish it?

Darwin was not completely aware of the theory of natural selection, though he had written down a book for evolution, he was t entirely convinced by it. After he received an assay from Alfred Wallace who explained the theory of natural selection to Darwin, he could publish the book.

Summarize and present your viewpoint concerning Darwin's theory of evolution?

Darwin’s theory of evolution stated that the species evolved and was not only created in mere 6 days. The fact that one species has evolved from another over a time of million years, was Darwin’ Theory of evolution. This was, at that time, in complete contrast with genesis that stated that the world was created in 6 days by god.

My thoughts are not influenced by the biblical point of view.
