Elctronic health records serves many purposes in health care to improve patient quality of care given by health providers. it starts when a  patient visits a hopsital for first time, it records all identifications data and patient is provided with either out patient identification data and inpatinet identification data card. electronic health record computerizes all records of data of patient like name, age, family, occupation,education etc.Patient vists doctor in out patient department every time and  EHR stores each time after scanning of patient information.

if a patient got admitted in a hospital  it helps to locate a patinet in hospital by pressing any patient identification data.there by it reduces time and energy. it helps to retrive data by pressing any of the idnetification data if patinent forget their number or any other information.further more it helps patient to type their on answer to the questions to the disease condition made by the system in patient area and improves communication time with patient and reduces question time and recording time in out patient department. it helps health professionals to provide immediate care to an individual by scanning physicans data, daily visit, change of medical orders, transfer of patient from one unit to one unit, pharmacological medication, laboratory values, past history. so it avoid multiplication of works made by staff and it serves health providers who has poor hand writing, use of nonstandard abbrevation(misunderstood by health staff) which may harm patient later. health providers can get time to provide quality service to an individual and thereby patient would get benefitted from this.

Electronic health record helps physician to analyse records of patient data and provide clarification and neccessary of anychange  in patient care and it avoids unnecessary tests and delay in care. electronic health record is widely used in Intensive care unit, surgical setting and emergency department. because patient  need to be monitored by  hourly charting and progress notes, medicine, intake and output.  health care staff can calculate medicine accurately and intake and out put which was entered in excel sheet. it stores medical imaging which is sent by imaging department.it helps health staff to anaylsis varies of condition of patient.

physician and health staff can record their voice about the patient and which is later transcripted.it avoid medical errors by prescripting electronic prescription. electroci health records provides calculation of medication according to a patient , sideeffects, medicine avalilable. so it avoids wrong medicine and wrong calculations of medicine  and waiting of patients in a queue.while discharging or pharmacy , laboratory, it provides accurate calculate of billing and reduced waiting time. after going home, patient get reminder from their healthrecord for follow- up and test. it classifies patient according to medical insurance scheme or any other scheme. not only classifies patient under insurance but it classifies patient according to every identification data. it stores procedure, immunization schedule, weight monitoring and growth chart of baby. if any declines it alarm staff and parents. it educate parents and patients about the life style and disease condition. it alarm staff recurrence of disease condition there by it identify health of patient
