Summary of case The opening case explores corporate social responsibility at Woolworths Group. The Australian conglomerate has set 2020 as the deadline to achieve goals across three areas that comprise its Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy 2020. Woolworths believes that it needs to be socially responsible across multiple areas within the framework of People, Planet, and Prosperity. Because the focus in each of these areas is unique, specialized strategic initiatives have been developed for each focus. The focus on People is about encouraging diversity, Planet focuses on the environment, and Prosperity focuses on trusted relationships.

1. THE woolworths group is a australian conglomerate corporation founded in 1924. the woolworth's group consist of three core businesses i.e. food groups, endeavors drink and portfolio business and employes more than 200,000 people.
challanges for woolworths:-
-first of all it is a challange in itself for a company to perform CSR with 200000 employees and their diversified interests.
-promoting workplace diversity for more than 200000 employees is the key material issue for woolworths.
- reducing waste and environment depletion while maintaining desired level cost.
- the goal of gender equality and reducing the gap between salary for men and women is difficult to achieve as IN todays era both men and women are competent but to have equal ratio or higher ratio of women in management may arouse some conflicts.
- insufficient storing at store may cause food wastage

ensuring health and safety and sustainability is one of the major challanges.
2. WOOLWORTHS co is continuesly trying to reduce its carbon emmision and increading its goals every time. in 2019 its carbon reduction was 18% its quite an achievement but base on where the world stands today, this needs to be imroved.
global warming is indeed true. this global warming is refered to as climate change. this is the cause of change in our planet's weather and climate change. these changes are emerging as humans continue to add heat trapping green house gases to the atmosphere.

GOOGLE , besides being worlds most popular search engine has also achieved its 100% energy renewel target in 2017 and is now the world's largest corporate energy renewal purchaser on planet. this coompany grants to several dedicated social impact initiative, including the equal justice initiative, goodwill industries international. google from facilitates green commuting, to employee gift matching, to paid time off to volunteer , google insept nearly every part of their business with a social impact lens.
