The American system was intended yk premote economic development and diversification reduce dependence on imports, and tie together the different section of the country. Thus the system consist of three components ,a tariff to protect and premote American industry, a national bank to foster commerce,and federal subsides for roads,canals,and other internal movements to develop profitable market for agriculture.

Clay said American sysem would benefit the economy by high tariff that helped all regions, wealth produce by tariffs would enables northerner to buy farm products from the west and south .Taxes would provide revenue for federal government. Government could use money to build infrastructure. The American system stated national economic policy in the first half of 19 th century. It helped young nation to grow in strength. The American system was met mixed reactions from the public.

Manufacturing companies that used interchangeable parts were able to cut resources costs and labor costs because they cannot swap out the components .The other elements of the American manufacturing system ,Mechinization also provide instrumental in helping manufacturing companies streamlevel their techniques.It increases the efficiency and productivity.
