Carlos Ghosn has a family background in entrepreneurship and leadership by the means of his grandfather Bichara Ghosn, who was involved in heading several trade operations. Mr. Ghosn also boasts a diverse multi-cultural ancestry himself, and as a result be very sensitive to managing and dealing with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
In his tenure as Chief Operating Officer for Michelin's South America division, he formed cross-functional management teams which significantly improved operations among different national representatives. This immediately increased profits. And thus was the birth of a cross-cultural management style.
