Solutions

Expert Solution

Ans

Backfires are a result of rise in temperature, a spark or indeed sun’s heat can set whole timber on fire. Campfire tend to spread snappily consuming thick and dried our shops and trees. Rise in temperature continues to dry out foliage so fire thresholds and becks everything more fluently. Increase in CO2 in the atmosphere and rise in global temperature threatens increase in campfire throughout century.

Many measures we can borrow to minimize the campfire include installation of fire extinguishers near timbers, paying attention while burning trash, using caution when using ignitable liquids and most importantly using fireworks in clear spaces far from timbers.

Australia has recently been affected by rampant wildfires that have resulted in the deaths of many animals. Before the fires, the Australian Koala population was at 239,000. Ecologists estimate around 8,000 died in the fires. The koala haploid genome size is approximately 3.5x10^9bp (remember that koalas, like most animals, are diploid), and the rate of mutation occurrence is 2x10^-7 mutations/site/generation. How many new mutations are predicted to occur in the functional region (8%) of the genome each generation? (Show your...
