Venue is the state and county is where the notary met the signer. It does NOT relate to where the document is drafted, where the property is involved or where the signer lives. We usually mention the venue in the form of " State of X, county of Y". It is the duty of the notary to specify and correct the venue. The initials SS may appear next to the venue which means scilicet and translated as "one may know" or " of course evidently, certainly". Thus, mentioning the initials SS we would complete the venue portion.
