Expert Solution

Question 1 answer- Chromosomal abnormalities can never lead to cancer (this statement is incorrect).

Explanation-

Chromosomes are heredity Carriers of genetic material and any abnormalities in the chromosomes will lead to abnormality in the corresponding DNA sequence which can lead to cancer.

Question 2 answer- Some viruses like HPV can cause cervical cancer ( is not linked to aggression in human beings).

Explanation-

Cervical cancer happens when cells change in a woman’s cervix. This cancer can affect the deeper tissues of her cervix and may spread to other parts of her body (metastasize), often the lungs, liver, bladder, vagina, and rectum. But it doesn't effects the functioning of our nervous system.

All other factors can lead to aggression which can be as follows-

  • Serotonin receptors, are a group of G protein-coupled receptor and ligand-gated ion channels found in the central and peripheral nervous systems. They mediate both excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmission.
  • Monoamine oxidase (MAO-A) is a key regulator for normal brain function. It is a flavoenzyme which degrades amine neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, via oxidative deamination.
  • Individual with karyotype XYY have greater testosterone levels then normal male and hence are more aggressive.
  • FMR1 (fragile X mental retardation 1) is a human gene that codes for a protein called fragile X mental retardation protein, or FMRP. This protein is most commonly found in the brain and is essential for normal cognitive development and female reproductive function.

Question 3 answer- Multifactorial traits are those traits which are affected by both genetics and environment.

Blood type is only controlled by genetic factors and hence it is not a Multifactorial trait.

While both genetic and environmental factors are involved in- skin color, club foot and intelligence.
