Based on the 2018 State of the Union Address, select an option below as a discussion prompt:
1) Select 2 points from the address that you agree with and discuss how they are vital to the success of America.
or
2) Select 2 points from the address that you disagree with and create alternative strategies that will benefit the American people.

During the address, there are many points that can bring agreement
as well as disagreement among the people, scholars and economists.
Though, my focus is upon the points, I agree with. The first point
is the new tax policy that is led to the tax cuts and common
working American of the middle class has really benefitted from it.
It has multi-dimensional benefits to the economy of the USA. With
the decrease in tax payment, the disposable income increases and it
is spent upon the goods and services produced in the economy. It
will boost the demand and new employment opportunities will be
created. Besides, it will reduce the burden upon the government to
spend and stimulate the demand. So, tax cut definitely reduces the
income sources to the government, but it also contributes in demand
stimulation and overall growth of the economy.
The second point, I agree with is the stringent immigration laws.
In first impression, it can be seen as inhuman or discriminatory,
but in reality it is the policy that the USA requires to prevent
illegal drugs smuggling across the different borders, illegal
immigration from the other border nations and undue pressure in the
labor market in the USA. The policy always respects and wants
deserving candidate to come to the USA and realize their dream.
But, it also has the prime responsibility to protect the interest
of the USA and its people. This is what the new immigration policy
is trying to achieve. It will also have more job available for the
Americans in the country.
So, I completely agree with the above two points.
