The different hepatitis viruses are

  1. Hepatitis A virus ( HAV)
  2. Hepatitis B virus ( HBV)
  3. Hepatitis C virus ( HCV)
  4. Hepatitis D virus ( HDV) and
  5. Hepatitis E virus ( HEV)

Importance of Hepatitis Vaccine among nursing students

· Nursing students are vulnerable to acquire Hepatitis B virus (HBV) through exposure to infective blood, and other body fluids.

· They are also at risk of getting HBV infection through accidental needle stick injuries while caring for infected-HBV patients.

· Hepatitis C virus (HCV) also poses a risk to nursing students through exposure to infective blood.

· Viral Hepatitis ( B , C and D) can result in the serious diseases such as chronic liver disease and liver cancer.

· Hepatitis B vaccines are safe and effective to prevent HBV infection and these vaccines also provide protection from Hepatitis D virus (HDV).

Importance of liver profile (liver function tests) among nursing students

· A liver profile is a set of blood tests that details the status of liver function.

· It consists of tests for hepatic enzymes , protein and bilirubin.

· Abnormal liver profile points to liver damage or disease

Hence it is good for nursing students if they undergo liver function tests and get injected  with hepatitis B vaccine.

If they aren’t equilibria – if one player or both could do better by changing...
