Explain the Western Civilization's transformation as a result of its interaction with the Muslim World. Describe how the interactions between the Muslim empires and the Christian kingdoms in the Iberian Peninsula as well as in Eastern Europe caused new developments in the Western Civilization.
The Western Civilization involved advancements in several aspects like the social, cultural, political, and economic aspects. The interactions between the Muslim empires and the religious kingdoms had significant impacts on western civilization. The empires and the kingdoms in Eastern Europe and the Iberian Peninsula resulted in several advancements. The Muslims, Jews, and Christians who lived within the Al-Andalus resided in peaceful relations despite the few revolts during religious persecution; the co-existence denoted that the diverse religions would reside together and share the ideas freely (Demant & Peter).
Therefore, they shared the cultural and social interaction exhibited between the distinct religions, which resulted in unique and varied cultures. The Umayyad golden age among the Muslims led to the feeling of equality with those of homeland. The Muwallads, therefore, of the Iberian descent adopted the Arabic genealogies and became fused to the Arabs ethnically over time. The Christians were placed under the Umayyad dynasty and allowed to maintain their churches and other religious practices. The unison created peaceful administration, economic advancement, and cultural interaction that alleviated societal well-being.
