why is the medical assistant's role in educating a cardiology patient about diet and exercise important?
Patient with cardiovascular disease have to take many precautions to prevent the progress of the diseases and to reduce the cardiovascular risks. The proper diet and regular exercise is very important to keep heart good health. Diet and lifestyle plays important role in the cardiovascular health. Poor diet intake and lack of exercise increases the cardiovascular problems, like deposition of plaques or cholesterol leads to the formation of atherosclerosis, high salt food increases the blood pressure, lack of exercise induces coronary disease due to poor oxygen absorption etc.
For cardiology patient, a medical assistant who have knowledge of proper diet and knowledge of cardio exercise may play important role to improve the health of cardiology patients. They work with the coordination with the doctor, nurse and other care taker. Medical assistant who is specialized in taking care of cardiology patient perform important duties to improve health condition and some basic jobs like evaluating blood pressure, weight of the patient, and side effect of drugs or treatments. They schedule proper diet on daily basis and help them to do exercise as directed by cardiologist to improve the cardiac health condition.
Cardiology medical assistants apply the electrocardiogram to measure the cardiac rhythm or electrical activity to check and record if there is any abnormalities and if found any abnormalities, they report to the cardiologist. Medical assistant can assist a patient about the food which they have to take or avoid. Like in case of coronary artery disease, the high cholesterol food should be avoided. Similarly, medical assistant helps the patient in several way to assure them they are in good diet and medication that keeps them improving from the cardiology disease.
