Theories are systems of beliefs about the world. Models formalize parts or aspects of theories.Since models often have a theoretical content and theories are often expressed by models, the terms are sometimes used synonymously.
· Theory are a set of principles on which the practice of an activity is based. It is a well substantiated explanation of an aspect.
· It gives an idea to explain something.
· It helps to analyse the different issue and helps to plan the appropriate action.
· The models and theories helps to understand a behaviour. There by it helps to plan the health promotion programming.
· It provides scientific explanation to address many variables and factors that affect the behavior change of a population.It adresses at the individual, group, and community levels. Hence the theory and modelds provides solutions to the differents aspects of human being and it provides different methods for facing the issues.
· Helps to plan and implement the scientific things.
A theory or model is an attempt to explain and to understand the human beliefs, behaviour and values. A theory is not just an explanation. It consists of series of ideas come to be held and accepted by a wider community of people
