What does the term 'interactome refer to?How is it different from genome, epigenome, transcriptome, proteome metabolome?
Interactome represents a complete set of molecular interactions with in a cell. It gives an understanding and details of all such bioinformatics interactions and the resulting consequences. These bioinformatics interactions are between different macro molecules such as proteins, nucleic acids, lipids, carbohydrates etc. Hence in general a typical interactome includes interaction between transcription factor, target genes, and chromatin regulatory proteins.
Genome on the other represents a complete set of DNA including all genes. Epigenome on the other hand represents the description of chemical modifications in DNA and histone proteins which then regulates the expression of genes within the genome.
A transcriptome is an array of mRNA transcript with in a cell and consists of complete range of mRNA that are expressed by an organism
Proteome represents all the proteins and metabolome describes all metabolites within a cell
