Using the sprinters as blocks, discuss the differences between the track surfaces as suggested by SPSS. Give a statement to be tested, identify the random variables involved and the assumptions you make about them, state the hypotheses to be tested, ask SPSS to run the analysis for you, including a post hoc, and then discuss the outcome. Describe the critical region(s) upon which you base your decisions. Include any SPSS output in your discussion.
Sol:
Step 1: Hypotheses
H0: µ1 = µ2 = µ3
Ha: at least one µi is different
Step 2: Significance Level α = 0.05
Step 3: Rejection Region Reject the null hypothesis if p-value ≤ 0.05.
Calculations:-
1.Enter data in spss.
2.Go to Analyze-->General liner model-->Univariate
3.Choose dependent and fixed factor.
4.Press Ok button.
5. Output
Conclusion:-
Here p-value is 0.956>0.05
so,We accept the null hypothesis.
At the α = 0.05 significance level, there is enough evidence to conclude that the mean surface is not differs among the six spinter.
