It is important to use government regulations and industry self regulations for providing quality of care.
Government aims at providing quality care to all vulnerable populations in affordable costs by them. It aims to give quality care in reasonable costs. Hence it provide schemes and health insurance policy to protect the citizens against from the profit based hospitals.
Health industry provide quality care for the benefits to them also to the society. Only if quality care is given then only they can retain their accreditations to the hospitals thus they can promote their hospital quality care to the society. Thus increase the profit to them. To obtain the accreditations the hospitals have guidelines in staffing pattern, infection rate, and in human resource department etc. So the industry for the sake of that maintain guidelines.
Some clinics run by reduced staffing pattern against the government guidelines .There it affects workplace management.so the quality of care cannot be given. This is one of the example if not following the government guidelines how it affects the quality of care.
Likewise the Industry have set their own protocol for all procedures. For example providing back care to the bedridden clients. If the nurse is not aware or not following the procedure according to the protocol there the client can develop the bed sores. If the rate of infection gets high it indicates poor quality of care.
Hence both government and industry self regulation is important for quality of care.
