Solutions

Expert Solution

1. A new state department of drug enforcement that is delegated in establishing a list of controlled drug would require working with the pharmaceutical industry and outlining the concerns of pharmaceuticals that are being abused depending upon the drugs acceptable medical use and the drugs abused or dependency potential.the abuse rate is a determinate factor in the scheduling of the drug and placing it in a list of controlled drives ( drug enforcement administration drug schedule).what I fined mist concerning about this agencies delegation to establish a list of controlled drug is that many controlled drugs that illegal under the DEA's current schedule of drugs are in fact ,prescribed by medical doctors and used for example marijuana, which is classified as a schedule l drug.

So all health Care providers need knowledge about drug abuse , we have to be able to diagnose and treatit.we have to be able to treat acute toxicity,we have to diagnose and treat secundary medical complications we have to facilitate drug withdrawal and we have to provide education NAD counseling to maintain longterm abstinence.Drug abuse is using a drug in a fashion in consistent with medical or social norms.drug addiction is a chronic replasing brain disease that is characterized by compulsive drug seeking.

2. Drug schedules, drugs substance and certain chemicals used to make drugs are classified in to five distinct categories or schedules depending upon the drugs acceptable medical use and the drugs abuse or dependency potential..

Schedule 1 :- substance or chemicals are defined as a drug with no currently accepted medical use and high potential for abuse eg, heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide

Schedule 2 :- substance or chemical ate defined as drugs with a high potential for abuse, with use potentially leading to severe psychological or physical dependence.these drugs are also considered dangerous.eg, cocaine, fentanyl.

Schedule 3 :- substance or chemicals are defined as drugs with a moderate to low potential for physical and psychological dependence.schedule 3 drug abuse potential is less than schedule I and schedule 2 drugs but more than schedule 4.eg, product containing less than 90 milligrams of codeine per dosage unit (Tylenol with codeine) , ketamine, anabolic steroids, testosterone.

Schedule 4 :- substance or chemical are defined as drugs with a low potential for abuse and low risk of dependence.eg, iv drugs are, xanax, soma, darvon, tramadol

Schedule 5 :- substance or chemicals are defined as drugs with lower potential for abuse than schedule 4 and consist of preparations containing limited quantities of certain narcotics.schedule 5 drugs are generally used for antidiarrheal, antitussive and analgesics purposes.eg,

Cough preparations with less than 200 milligrams of codeine or per 100 millimeters (robitussin AC) ,lomotil, motofen, lyrica ,parepectolin.

3 . actually generic drugs are only cheaper because the manufactures have not had the expenses of developing and marketing of a new drug.when a company brings a new drug in the market, the firm has already sent substantial money on research, development, marketing and promotion of the drug or medicine.

Here why not give the warfarin to the patient warfarin affect the arthritis.the use of warfarin or related vitamin K antagonist was associated with a more than 100% increased risk of incident or progressive knee or hip osteoarthritis .
