what challenges might the U.S. face in negotiating and communicating with Middle eastern negotiators?.
Challenges faced by U.S. in negotiating and communciating with
Middle eastern negotiators
Language
The way we communicate is the first thing in communication and
language plays a very important role in it. The language in which
the two negotiators negotiate will decide the outcome. If the
languages are the same then both the parties will understand
everything fast and fully and the decision will be easy and quick.
In U.S. it is English and in Middle East it is Arabic, both are
totally different languages.
Culture
Negotiation also depends upon the culture of the two countries
which will influence the negotiating decision. U.S and Middle East
both places have totally different cultures. One country has a
broad way of culture while other one is a bit less. Thus culture
will be a challenge for the negotiators.
Law
Law enforcements also play a role in the negotiating process. U.S.
negotiator will have to learn and know about the Middle East law
and rules which will help in a better and quick way of
negotiation.
Structure
The structure of the Middle Eastern companies also matters. In U.S.
the structure of the company might be different and so in Middle
East. The U.S. negotiator has to study that first in order to go
further. This will help him to meet the right person at the right
time.
Time
Time is also an important factor. The U.S. time table and the
begining and end of the day is totally different than the Middle
East. The negotiator will find it difficult to manage if he does
not have knowledge about the time. As in Middle east they have
breaks in afternoon, the day begins early etc. So he has to study
the same first.
Market
The market scenario is totally different within both the countries.
The U.S. negotiator has to study the market analysis first and then
opt for negotating. This will help in getting points on the
different goods, services or market scenarios and in turn those
will help in correct and to the point negotiating.
