Home visitation and accompaniment are two Strategies that adopt community health worker to serve the community .Community health worker is a member of community who is selected by organisation to providebasic health care to the community.

1) Advantages of home visit and accompaniment

:this strategy help to evaluate the health status of each individual in a community. Identification of problems is the cornerstone of health care services. Individual based care can provide by identifying of problems .

:direct health care services like first aid and health screening.

:it will help to increase accessibility of health care services .

:it will aid in increase trust among individuals and CHW.

:it will help to provide health care services based on their cultural believes and customs.

:provide health education in home environment and it will develop health awareness among all individuals. Health education can provide by use of appropriate language this will aid in better understanding.

:it will help to prevent Child Abuse and neglect.

:this strategies help to ensure and support family well being.

:act as a liaison between community and health care organization.

:this will help to building individual and community capacity .

:it aid in providing maternal and child health services and there by preventing the maternal and child problems.

:it help to surveillance and identification of communicable diseases as early as possible.

2) Challenges of home visitation and accompaniment.

Home visitation and accompaniment is the best strategy to provide health care services to community but there are some challenges for this strategy this include,

:lack of training and awareness program to the CHW___the CHW is the bridge person who connect the clinic to the patient .So adequate training is necessary for proper functioning of CHW. In many setting lack of essential training is faced by CHW.

:limit the availability of resources : proper functioning of CHW demand adequate supply of equipment and resources. This will help to poor health care services.

:the community members does not identify or accept the role of CHW. This also a big challenge for home visit.

3) Solution to overcome this challenge

:provide orientation program and adequate training to all CHW_this training help to enhance knowledge and skills of CHW to identify health determinant and provide need based preventive, supportive and referral care to each individual.

:provide awareness program to all community members regarding the role of community health worker.

:increase the availability of resources and supplies for providing basic health care services to the community .
