In assessing your Prospecting Chart, if you were a sales rep selling insurance, what form of prospecting do you think would be most effective? Explain why you chose that technique over the others listed. ( Cold Calling, Networking or Social Media)

As a Sales Representative, I would prefer Social media technique over cold calling and mere networking while prospecting. One important point to be noted is, networking, which according to me is really significant in selling insurance, is possible with social media, and that makes the prime reason for me to choose social media. I would initially like to point out my personal experience of loosing too much of my quality time involving in cold calling. Another disadvantage to cold calling is, the client might not be willing to buy insurance even after hours of discussions. I could reach out to multiple clients using social media within the same time I spent talking to single client via cold calling. I find it easier and effective to use various social media platform including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Whatsapp, Telegram etc. for selling insurance. Some of the reasons why I prefer social media for selling insurance are the reach it can have because I can focus on people from different age groups, different backgrounds, and different careers using different platforms. For instance, for reaching out to youth, I can use Facebook or Instagram, and for middle-aged career-oriented clients, I can use platforms including Linkedin and Twitter. I addition to posting ads, I can respond to inquiries individually with ease and clear the clients' doubts, I can create pages regarding new plans or offers, I can create forums for discussions, and pay attention to needs of the clients. I can use social media for networking as well, mainly using Facebook messenger and creating chat groups, and forwarding the message I wish to convey via these platforms. These messages get forwarded to the other groups in turn and the message reaches even to people I don't even know. One of the major advantages I find in using social media is that only people genuinely in need will make inquiries, the number would not even be calculated by me but it would definitely exceed the number of people I expect to reach out to. Thus I could utilize my quality time interacting with people genuinely interested in purchasing insurance so that I can convince them utilizing my marketing skills and can result in excellent sales.
