Colchicine is commonly prescribed for Gout exacerbations. What other conditions might Colchicine be prescribed for and why?

COLCHICINE ------- It is an anti - inflammatory drug which is uswally prescribed for the gout patient. It relieves from pain in acute attack of gout.
other uses where colchicine is prescribed are ---- in case of gouty arthritis , it can inhibit the progession and leukocyte migration to the site of inflammation, it relief from pain , it not cure completely but prevent the attacks.
It can also be used in Behcet's disease as long term therapy, used in chondrites , familial Mediterranean fever to decrease attacks, In therapy for pericarditis , biliary cirrhosis , scleroderma, amyloidosis, pulmonary fibrosis,hepatic cirrhosis, the colchicine can use as a secondary components.
Contraindications of COLCHICINE are ------
Severe cardiac disease, hypersensitivity reactions, gastrointestinal conditions, renal or hepatic disorder.
Side effects are --- diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headache, malaise, anorexia, renal damage, dermatitis, myopathy, erythema , etc.
